Goal Fest Headlines Second Round of TCC Cup

20 goals were scored across six games as teams continued to jostle for points in the race to qualify for the knockout phase of the 2026/2027 TCC Cup.

In Group B, new boys, D Shack FA, continued their unbeaten start to the campaign, albeit in dramatic fashion. Down 2-1, and staring defeat in the eye, Dennis Tarfa’s late goal in the fifth minute of added time was enough to rescue a point for the hosts and keep them at the top of their group.

It was the opposite of late drama in the other group games. First, it was VOE FA succumbing to a second consecutive defeat, conceding twice in the opening 40 minutes against Real Sapphire. In a second meeting within days, there was little to separate Broad City and Dino SC as they settled for a point apiece.

In Group A, Omotayo Abubakar again stole the show, scoring a hat-trick in Gaiters’ 5-0 win against Gbagada and taking home the Man of the Match award. And just like Gaiters, Beyond Limits bumped their TCC goal tally to nine with a 5-0 thumping of Atlantic Business. The goal fest began with Ishola Gbemahouzou’s thunderous strike in the 25th minute, and ended with Peter Oyeniran’s cool finish in stoppage time. In the group’s other game, Iganmu’s stoppage time goal came a little too late as Imperial grabbed a 2-1 away win.
