The organising body
The Creative Championship is the organising body of the Creative Championship League, with sole responsibility for the competition and all that pertains to it.
However, we do not operate in isolation. We work proactively and constructively with our Member Clubs and the wider football authorities to improve the quality of football, especially in Nigeria.
The Member Clubs
The Creative Championship League is a private company wholly owned by its Member Clubs, who make up the League at any one time. Each individual club is independent, working within the rules of football as defined by the Creative Championship League, the NFF, CAF and FIFA.
Each club is a Shareholder in the League. Consultation is at the heart of the Creative Championship, and Shareholder meetings are the ultimate decision-making forum for League policy, held at regular intervals during the season.
Our workforce
The organisation is delivered by a team working across a range of roles — football operations, youth development, communications, digital, finance, legal, marketing and policy — all pulling in one direction to raise the standard of Nigerian grassroots football.
How the competition works
THE FORMATThe League
A single table played September to April. Three points a win, ranked on points, then goal difference, then goals scored. Every club plays every other club.
The Cup
A knockout competition alongside the league. In most seasons it opens with round-robin groups, with the top two in each group advancing to the bracket.
One disciplinary ledger
Cards carry across both competitions. A suspension earned in a cup tie is served in the next game of either, because a player is either available or he is not.
The Super Cup
A one-off match between the league champions and the cup winners. It is a standalone fixture, not a third competition, and it does not feed the tables.
What a player gets
THE POINT OF ITFiled where scouts look
The Creative Championship was the first Nigerian league on Hudl Wyscout, the platform professional clubs use to find players. Every match a TCC player features in is on it.
A real competitive record
Fixtures, results, lineups, goals and cards are logged match by match, so a player leaves with a record rather than a highlight reel.
A route out of Lagos
Through the TCC Elite Cup partnership with Abuja's Elite League, our champions measure themselves against another region and prepare for international stages like the Gothia Cup.
