All is now set for the 2023 TCC Cup final as Beyond Limits face Sporting Lagos.

The reigning champions, after securing a fourth league title, slugged it out with Gbagada. Their early pressure paid off as they scored in the 10th minute. The feisty start to the clash hit a fresh frenzy as Eniola pulled one back for the Blue Eagles in the 27th minute. Beyond Limits got another goal just before half time but Adesina had a worthy response in the 68th minute.

The game headed into penalties and Gbagada blinked first, missing their fourth penalty. Beyond Limits would go on to score all five as they dumped Gbagada out of the competition.

In the other semi-final, Sporting Lagos needed penalties to bring Real Sapphire’s fairytale run to an abrupt end. Only the second game to end without a goal in normal time, both sides were guilty of wasting big chances. But it wasn’t to be for the competition debutants as they scaled the Hurdle of Sapphire to book a meeting with Beyond Limits.

Sporting Lagos were the only side to defeat Beyond Limits this season, albeit in the league. Can they pull off another win, regardless of the high stakes?
