The Creative Championship

19th December, 2023

The second round of Creative Championship Cup games kick off this week as teams prepare for the mid-season break.

In Group A, it’s all about who gets the group’s first win, as all of MatchDay 1’s fixtures ended in a draw.

Sporting Lagos will be looking to forget their league troubles and finish the year with a win. They’re however up against an Imperial side that has lost just one of their seven games in all competitions. It’s a repeat of their TCC League clash from two weeks ago, which Imperial won 4-2.

Also at the Remo Stars Stadium, Broad City will take on Dannaz, a team that has only managed two wins in their last 12 games in all competitions.

In Ijebu Ode, Dino will face Gbagada. Both sides are meeting again 10 days after their TCC League clash, which ended in a 2-2 draw. Both coaches (Coach Akinyelu and Coach Gibson) will be hoping this one finishes with a win for them as they seek to end the year on a high.

In Group B, reigning champions, Valiant, have their work cut out for them. After starting out with a loss against Iganmu, they now have to outscore Real Sapphire to revive their chances of qualification.

In the group’s other fixtures, Beyond Limits will take on Iganmu. Coach Olumide’s lads are the only side to have managed a clean sheet from MatchDay 1. As well as scoring the most goals from that round, the reigning league champs will be hoping to make light work of Iganmu.

Rounding things off in that group, Escola United face Atlantic as both sides battle for their first TCC League cup win this season.
