Iganmu FC 3-1 Vaiant FC

Saturday 6th February, 2021

Venue: Agege Stadium

Iganmu got a first win over Valiant in three games but it was not enough to put them into the semi-finals of the TCC Cup, played at the Agege Stadium on Saturday.

The first installment ended 4-0 in favour of the visitors and they were largely confident going into this game with everything still under control but Iganmu FC stunned them to claim some pride after the annihilation in the first leg.

Valiant, as they have customarily done all season, got the opening goal in the 12th minute to further rubber-stamp their dominance in this fixture. However, the hosts soon found a way back into the game through David Adeola’s goal in the 40th minute.

The Iganmu Lions soon turned up the screw as they seek to do the unthinkable and progress at the expense of the bookmaker’s favourites in miraculous fashion. Two goals in three minutes from Lawrence David and Adeola’s second in the 57th and 63rd minute did ignite a believe, but it wasn’t enough.

The Davids tried to push their side over the Goliaths in Valiant yet it never happened, as Coach Achieve Yunus’ men held on to book a place in the semi-finals with a 5-3 aggregate win over the fellow Lagos based side.

Man of the Match

Adeola David gave his all in this game for Iganmu FC. The wonderful all-round display from the attacking midfielder wasn’t just enough to take his side through.
