Emmydinho 1-1 Remo Stars U19

Thursday 4th February, 2021

Venue: Agege Stadium

Remo Stars U-19 side came into this Creative Championship Cup game with a five-goal advantage from the first leg, at home. With a foot firmly placed in the semi-final, the onus was on Emmydinho to find a way past the Remo Boys.

But things went from bad to worse for the home side as they conceded inside the first two minutes of the game. Center-back Ajibolade Isaac was on hand to rattle the opponent’s onion bag to give his side a six-goal aggregate lead.

The first half would end with Remo Stars U-19 on the ascendancy, with the second starting the same way. Emmydinho would find a way to get on the scoresheet when the referee pointed to the spot for a penalty kick. They converted, in the 61st minute.

Proceedings would return to the norm: Remo Stars U19 dominating the game. Their reward for this long and sustained pressure would come when the home side conceded the penalty. But Coach Olumide’s side would fail to convert.

The game ended 1-1, with Remo Stars gaining qualification for the semi-finals of the Creative Championship Cup.
