Dino continue unbeaten run as they climb to second

Dino climbed to second place, after recording yet another win in the TCC League, this time over Gbagada FC.

Both sides started the affair with mild end-to-end action. It was Dino who showed intent first as a goal attempt from outside the area forced goalkeeper Olotu to parry the ball away for a corner-kick.

The stalemate between both sides remained. However, Dino was the better of the two sides, as they once again forced Olotu to make a save, this time in the 39th minute of the game. Both teams went into the break inseparable, with Gbagada playing second fiddle.

The second half started the same way the first ended, with Dino pressing all the right buttons. Their efforts paid off in the 55th minute when Ikechukwu Friday put Coach Gibson’s side in the lead.

Unwilling to allow Dino run away with the game, Gbagada grew gradually into the game. Wasiu Balogun’s 60th minute free-kick, which was punched off by Gideon Ede, was quickly followed by a 67th minute chance for the same player, who was thwarted, yet again, by Gideon.

The final minutes of the game was a frenzy that featured end-to-end action.

While pushing for an equalizer, Gbagada left themselves open to a Dino counter attack. Olotu was however on hand to save the resulting shot. Across the pitch, Dino players were putting themselves on the line to keep Gbadamosi and Joshua Blessing at bay.

With second place on the line, Gbagada kept pushing for an equalizer. Yet again, they left themselves vulnerable. And this time, Dino pounced in the 92nd minute as Seun Egbewole put the icing on the cake for Dino.

With the resulting win, Dino, having leap-frogged Gbagada, are now in second place, two points behind the log leaders.
