Broad City 0 - 3 Dino SC
Dino Record first away Win since October, put three past Broad City
Dino SC returned to winning ways with their 3-0 triumph over Broad City.
The visitors who had suffered a shock home loss to Valiant the weekend before, came into the game seeking to bounce back to winning ways.
Despite being the visitors, Dino SC made their intentions known early with a high press that forced an error from goalkeeper Busari Olawale who gave the ball away in his 18-yard area. Stanley Ogbonna was, however, unable to convert from close range, hitting the woodwork instead.
Broad City, on the other hand, struggled with Dino’s high press at the back while they also struggled to create chances upfront. It didn’t take long for the visitors to sense and take the initiative.
In an attempt to beat the press and play out from the back, Adeoye Qudus’ flick was intercepted by Alanta Azuka. In a three against one situation, it was advantage Dino. Azuka took the ball in his stride, shifted onto his left foot before unleashing a low shot that dragged past Busari Olawale.
Try as they could, Broad City failed to get a 1st half goal as the visitors went into the break with a lead.
Not satisfied with their performance, Dino doubled their lead in the 46th minute.
Receiving the ball in the middle of the park, Iwar Paul sent a defense-splitting pass to a Daneil Effiong who was already through on goal. Beating the offside trap, Daniel chipped the ball over the goalkeeper and extended his side’s lead over Broad City.
The home side, in all of this, failed to trouble the Dino defense as their attack was quiet. Alternatively, the Dino players seemed hungry for goals and had their appetite (again) satisfied as Daniel Effiong was on hand to tap in from close range, with no opposition defender close to him.
The win sees Dino climb up one spot, to seventh on the log while Broad City slide down to sixth.
