Beyond Limits gets the better of Imperial in Six-goal Thriller

Beyond Limits defeated Imperial in their MatchWeek 8 game to go four points clear at the top of the table.

The home team started off their scoring in the 24th minute as Ogundana Shola converted from the spot to hand the home team the lead. One quickly became two in the 36th minute as Ogundana Shola was on the receiving end of a pass from midfield.

Beating the offside trap, Shola controlled the ball and fired it past Ominigbona Saidi into the bottom right corner to give Coach Olumide’s side a two-goal lead going into the break.

Imperial started the 2nd half on a brighter note, as Abdullahi raced onto a long pass from his half. Shrugging off a defender, he gained control of the ball, feigned a shot which confused the goalie before slotting the ball home to pull one back for the visitors.

Beyond Limits responded almost immediately as Onyebuchi was on hand to tap home from close range in the 56th minute. Three goals became four as Kparobo Arierhi scored a beauty of a goal. First controlling with his right foot, he shifted the ball with his right to his left foot before curling it into the net.

Imperial scored the final goal of the game through Salau Yusuf in the 85th minute. But it wasn’t enough as Beyond Limits solidified their position at the top of the league, condemning Imperial to yet another league defeat.
