Dino 1 - 0 Gbagada FC
Dino edge past Gbagada in Ijebu Ode
The battle between Dino and Gbagada, match week seven’s opening fixture, ended in a slim 1-0 win in favour of Dino SC on Saturday.
Both sides have been underwhelming this season and it was a case of two sides trying to find their level after six torrid weeks in the new season.
Dino came into this tie on the back of a defeat at Beyond Limits and were desperately searching for a win to move away from the bottom zone, while Gbagada snatched three points from bottom side Valiant in their last outing.
As expected, it was quite cagey in the opening half of the game as both defenses were up and doing, keeping the attackers at bay.
Just when it looked like one of those days without goals, substitute Daniel Effiong made an instant impact for Dino by scoring the game’s opening goal in the 47th minute. In search of a response, Gbagada struck the woodwork through Sanda Gabriel’s freekick moments later.
The Blue Eagles dominated proceedings for a large period of the second half, but Godwin Gibson’s men held on for the win and climb above their opponents on the log.

MAN OF THE MATCH
Kator Orjime (Dino SC)
The midfielder was excellent in the middle of the park. He did well in his defensive role by offering adequate protection to the back four as well as his team’s goal.
