Sporting Lagos and Broad City faced off in Lagos on Sunday and the game finished 2-2 at the Legacy Pitch.
Sporting started the game as league leaders and needed a win to extend their lead at the top of the pile, while the Citizens, who have struggled on their travels, were desperate to arrest their winless run.
In their usual manner in games this season, Sporting went into the lead through Chukwuma Emma in the 25th minute. They held onto that goal to lead at halftime.
Just after the hour mark, Adio Ojora doubled the home side’s lead, leaving the away side with a mountain to climb. However, just five minutes later, Oyene Ifeanyi scored to hand his side a lifeline.
When it looked like all hope was lost, returning winger Yunana Victor leveled for the home side in the 70th minute, much to the shock of the home side.
Sporting never found their way back, as Broad City picked their first point on the road for this season.
