Valiant FC have claimed their first league win of the campaign by edging Atlantic Business 3-2 in Ijebu Ode.
As the TCC League entered matchweek six, the pressure to record a win became intense for coach Owolabi Mustapha and his boys.
However, they got off to the best possible start when in-form midfielder Sixtus Elegalam fired them into the lead a minute before the 20th mark. One soon became two as Gafar Olaniyan grabbed another to increase the visitors’ lead four minutes later.
Those goals handed the Lagosians the lead before the HT break as it left Atlantic Coach Adiro Olayinka and his boys wondering what hit them.
The coach’s pep talk at break did the magic as his dull boys came out with much hunger. An own goal from goalkeeper Hammed Saheed and a goal from Onafowokan Sulaimon in six minutes brought the hosts back to level terms.
However, there would be late drama in the closing embers of the game when Sanusi Maleek struck home the winner for the Brave Boys to snatch all three points in Ijebu Ode.
