Imperial extends unbeaten run against Iganmu Tiger

Imperial’s rise on the TCC League table continued on Saturday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by the visiting Iganmu Tiger.

Imperial have won their previous three games before heading into this fixture with the hope of making it four in a row. Iganmu, on the other hand, have been good this season, rubbing shoulders with teams at the top with just a defeat before the trip to Ikenne.

As they have done in all of their games this season, Imperial scored first through Peter Kareem in the 32nd minute and Adedeji Ayeoba’s side were able to take the lead into the break.

Iganmu woke up after the interval and found themselves level minutes after Kenneth Sesugh was sent off for the home side. Striker Alabi Saka scored to restore parity in the 59th minute.

With a man less, Imperial continued to push for a second goal while the Tigers were cautious of their dangerous hosts.

No other goal came in the game but Iganmu also finished the game with ten men as Jimoh Karim was sent off in the 87th minute of the contest.

Consequently, Imperial are now joint leaders of the TCC League with 10pts from five games, while Iganmu are just two points behind the Odogboolu based-side.
