Dino SC Beat Beyond Limits To Claim Top Spot in Group B

Dino SC edged Beyond Limits 1-0 at the Dipo Dina Stadium on Friday to secure top spot in Group B.

With both group games happening simultaneously, Dino knew only a win could make them qualify for the semifinals and also claim the top spot in the process. On the other hand, the Sky Blues needed to avoid defeat or hope results go their way in the other encounter between Dannan and Valiant.

Dino have always been difficult opponents for coach Olumide Ajibolade’s men and that they did again on Friday, denying them spaces to operate or fashion out chances in the final third. It was a game of few chances as the game stayed goalless at halftime.

After the break, coach Gibson Godwin’s boys upped the ante a bit but the visitors were resolute at the back, thwarting their foray of attacks to stay in the game.

However, Pascal Chukwudi popped up with the goal for the Lions in the 75th minute to put them in the ascendancy. The visitors searched for an equaliser late on but it never came.

As a result, Dino picked the top spot while Beyond Limits finished second after Valiant lost to Dannaz in the other group’s game.
