Dannaz picked up their second win of the TCC League season against Iganmu with a 2-1 margin.
Without a win in their last three, the Cedars dangerously near the foot of the table. Coach Akande Fatai’s lads, started the game with the right amount of energy, searching for that first goal.
They were however caught on the counter as Gbagadegesin Ogunfeyimi opened the scoring for the Iganmu Lions. With chances far and in-between, Dannaz were not willing to throw in the towel early. Banking on home advantage with a mix of belief and chance creation, they drew level in the 42nd minute through Savio Idezi’s strike.
The second half started with both sides on the front foot, creating chances, trying to get ahead in the game. Sheriff Woleola, who had been immense for his side all-game long, would add a feather to his cap as he scored his side’s second in the 55th minute.
Having found themselves in a rare lead, they sought to tighten their grip on the game with another goal. Unable to get their goal, Dannaz settle for keeping the lions at bay and earning a second win in five league games.
