Sporting Lagos recorded an emphatic win over Gbagada FC in the final game of MatchDay 4 in TCC League.
Having failed to get anything from their TCC Cup tie against Valiant, the host sought to get back to winning ways in the league in their first-of-its-kind clash with Gbagada FC.
The visitors were having their own episode too, failing to win their last three games in all competitions.
Things didn’t start well for Coach Akinyelu’s Blue Eagles as his boys conceded the first goal of the game in the 19th minute. Before the goal, the signs were there. But the defense could not handle Sani Abubakar who found a way to open the scoring.
The visitors have struggled in front of goal recently. Those struggles seemed to continue in the first half as they found it hard to finish off their chances. Sporting went into the break buoyed by their slender lead.
Not resting on their oars, they got a second as Adio Ojora continued his fine scoring form by rattling the onion bag in the 58th minute. Hammed Fasanya, who had been an instrumental part of the team all day long would get a reward for his efforts in the 67th minute, putting one past Emeagwai Azubuike.
For all their attempts, Gbagada could not break down the Sporting Lagos defense as the hosts cruised to a second victory of the season. Up to second place on the log, the league newcomers are enjoying life in TCC. For Gbagada, there’s plenty to consider for Coach Akinyelu as they now find themselves in eighth.

MAN OF THE MATCH
Hammed Fasanya (Sporting Lagos)
His all-round display going forward proved to be the difference maker as he was too difficult for Gbagada to handle.
