Defending champions Beyond Limits cruised to a 2-0 win over Dannaz at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Wednesday.
The Junior Sky Blue Stars slumped to a 1-0 defeat at fellow challengers last Sunday and were keen to make up for that loss in Lagos. While Dannaz have been on a run of two consecutive defeats since the opening day win at Dino.
Coach Olumide Ajibolade’s boys flew out of the blocks early and were rewarded with a penalty in the third minute, which Muyideen Olude converted expertly. The home side continued to dominate the encounter and were desperately looking for a second goal.
Just four minutes after the half-hour, Muyideen completed his brace with a simple tap-in to offer some comfort to the home side. They kept that lead until half-time without any stress from the visitors.
Upon the resumption of hostilities, the HT pep talk from coach Fatai Akande woke the Cedars up and they began playing better. Sadly, they could not trouble the hosts in the finL third. For Beyond Limits, they kept creating upfront as Oluwaseun Odunsi was denied by the woodwork late on.
In the end, it was those pair of first half goals from the teenage winger that decided the game on Wednesday.
