Iganmu FC vs. Valiant FC

Sunday, January 23, 2022

Full-time Scores: Iganmu 2 – Valiant 2

Iganmu FC and Valiant played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in their TCC League match at the Legacy Pitch in Surulere on Sunday.

Both sides were without a win in the opening weekend of the new league season and were looking for some sort of response in the day’s final game in Lagos.

Iganmu took the initiative after the first half had ended goalless to go in front through Wariz Onilude’s goal in the 46th minute. The visitors were shell shocked and couldn’t find an immediate response.

However, coach Mustapha Owolabi of Valiant introduced Saoban Tanimola on the 56th minute and his faith was repaid when the midfielder restored parity three minutes after the hour mark.

Meanwhile, the home side picked themselves up once more and continued to dominate the proceedings and in the 72nd minute they were awarded a penalty which Fidelix John tucked away comfortably for a 2-1 lead.

But that wasn’t going to be the game’s final action as the Brave boys got a penalty of theirs, which top striker Ifeoluwa Agboola converted in the 84th minute for his second goal in two league games.

The result leaves Iganmu with their second successive draw of the campaign, while Valiant have their first point of the season but both sides are still without a win so far.
