Atlantic Business 2 - 1 Beyond Limits

16th October, 2022

Atlantic Business beat Beyond Limits to continue impressive start

Atlantic Business did the business against Beyond Limits at the Dipo Dina international stadium on Sunday by claiming a 2-1 win.

Atlantic have shown promise since making their debut in the competition last year. They started this campaign with a last-gasp 3-2 win at Sporting Lagos. Beyond Limits, on the other hand, were comfortable 3-0 winners against Iganmu Tiger.

To the game proper on Sunday, the God’s own team flew out of the blocks quite early and their persistent pressure paid off when Paul Jacob fired an excellent effort into the roof of the net after some brilliant work by Moyosore Onikoyi

The defending champions, who were left unsettled for a large part of the early exchanges, were handed a penalty when skipper Onyebuchi Obasi was hacked down in the area. Farouq Ogundare was charged with the responsibility and duly converted from 12 yards.

The exchanges and battle for supremacy continued for the rest of the half, as the game came to a pause after 45 minutes.

Upon the restart, Atlantic Business went back in front once again. Forward Moyosore pounded on an error from goalkeeper Ogunbode Abbey after just five minutes into the half.

Three minutes later Gift Sunday thought he had equalised again for the junior sky blue stars but his effort was chalked off for offside.

The defending champions were not going to leave the stadium without a fight and they switched up the ante. Coach Ajibolade Olumide’s wards kept linking up and dominating possession for a while but the opportunities to get on level terms were not in abundance.

In the end, it was a memorable win for the home side, who go top of the log, while BYL were handed their first defeat of the campaign.
