Beyond Limits finished off their season in style as they put five past Iganmu in their final game of the season.
The champions did not hide their intent as they got the first goal of the game in the 5th minute. After dispossessing the opponents just in their half, Beyond Limits went on the counter on the right flank, with Ayomide Ogungbe chasing down the ball.
His low cross into Iganmu’s 18-yard area found an unmarked Shola Ogundana who put the ball past the goalkeeper.
Two minutes later,Coach Olumide’s side doubled their lead through Shola Ogundana, again. After a midfield scramble, Ayomide got the ball and, again, found Shola with a through ball. One-on-one with the goalie, Shola sent the goalkeeper the wrong way as he doubled the visitors’ lead.
The home side, rattled by the quick-fire goals and the lack of possession, had to play patient dog, seeking an opportunity to pounce. The Tigers got their chance in the 19th minute as Beyond Limits failed to clear their lines. Smelling blood, Gbadegesin Ogunfiyi latched onto the ball and hit it first time to send it past Favour in goal.
The first-half goal fest continued as Beyond Limits got their third on the 23rd minute mark. Felled in the Iganmu penalty box, Captain Onyebuchi Obasi stepped up to convert from the spot.
The player went on to get his hat-trick in the 38th minute, latching onto a loose ball and scoring his third of the game. Iganmu got their own penalty in the 43rd minute and also converted just before half-time to bring the total number of goals to six.
The 2nd half was a quieter affair as both sides settled for a less intense engagement. However lowkey, there wasn’t going to be any stopping Obasi from getting his fourth goal.
Benefitting from yet another defensive mishap, Obasi added to his tally for the day, scoring for a fourth time. The five-star performance was icing on the cake for the champions as they drew the curtain on what has been a successful campaign for Coach Olumide’s lads.
