League debutants Sporting Lagos finished the campaign on a winning note as they edged Atlantic Business 4-2 in Ijebu Ode.
Atlantic have been underwhelming for large parts of the season but were quick out of the blocks in this final-day fixture. They got the game’s opening goal through Sodiq Kazeem in the second minute but the visitors found an equalizer off the boots of Subair Yahaya in the ninth minute.
However, Kazeem struck again to restore his side’s lead at the Dipo Dina Stadium on Monday and for the second time in the game, the Lagos side restored parity on the stroke of halftime through Godwin Alex.
After the break, the visitors, who have been impressive this campaign, went into the lead for the first time in the contest in the dying embers of the game. Peter Ahisu scored in the 87th minute before completing his brace two minutes later to snatch all three points in the end.
It was a disappointing end to the season for Adiro Olayinka’s side, while Olusanjo Olutayo will be proud of his side’s achievements in their debut season in the TCC.
