Dino’s two goals against Iganmu were enough to see them register their first league win of the year.
Comin on the back of two defeats and two draws, Coach Godwin Gibson’s side had dropped out of the top half of the league table and were desperate to get back to winning ways.
Dino made their hunger for a win as early as the seventh minute. Finding space for himself, Hyacinth Ogonna got the first goal of the game to give Dino the lead. Dealing with the early pressure from the visitors was a tactical nightmare for Coach Alade Kabiru whose boys were evidently struggling to keep up.
The hosts would however find their rhythm as the half wore on, creating chances but failing to convert. Dino, on the other hand, stamped their authority on their game and earned themselves a first half win.
The second half started the same way the first ended.
Despite scoring an average of one league goal per game this year, Iganmu were struggling in front of goal. While the chances were far and in between, the offense struggled against a determined Dino defense.
While the hosts struggled to sort themselves out, the visitors added to their misery with a second goal. Samuel Obudu got on the scorer’s sheet in the 68th minute to make Dino’s lead more comfortable.
There was no coming back from this one for Iganmu as they succumbed to their third league defeat this year. They’re now on a six game run without a win. For Coach Godwin, he can push for a strong finish to the league starting with this away win against the Tiger.
