Beyond Limits Clinch TCC League Title with Win over Gbagada

Beyond Limits retained their TCC League title with a win over their nearest title rival on the log table, Gbagada.

With Beyond Limits missing some of their regulars, it was expected that this one would be a tough one for the reigning champions. They however buried all of those thoughts when they scored their first of the game in the fourth minute.

Isah Abukakar was the man who opened the scoring after his shot on goal was deflected past the Gbagada goalkeeper.

It didn’t take long for one to become two as Farouq Ogundare was on hand to punish the Gbagada defense.

After a poor goal-kick, Beyond Limits started off a counter-attacking move which ended up forcing a save out of goalkeeper Kabiru Ramon. He was however only able to parry the ball into the path of Farouq, who rifled home from close range.

In a bid to comeback from the shock deficit, Waiu Balogun tried his luck but his shot would end up hitting the woodwork. This was the last major action from the half as Gbagada trailed the champions.

The second half started with more substitutions by the Blue Eagles and a sense of urgency to score. They were however unable to breakdown the resolve of Coach Olumide’s side. With nothing to show for all of their hard work, Beyond Limits capitalized, as Isah Abubakar was released on goal to get his second of the game with a fine strike.

Three nil it ended as Beyond Limits made sure that their lead at the top of the log remained unassailable. They have now successfully defended a title they won just a few months back.
