Imperial Climb to Fourth with Slim Win over Atlantic Business

Imperial bounced back to winning ways in their second TCC League game of the year with a narrow win over Atlantic Business.

Coach Adedeji’s men needed a win to shake off the heavy defeat at the hands of Sporting Lagos a week earlier. They however started off the blocks slowly as they sought to get their rhythm.

Atlantic Business, on the other hand, were equally seeking to recover from a defeat at the hands of Dannaz.

The first half was a cagey affair between both sides as they were wary of conceding the first goal of the game. This would lead to the first half ending goalless.

The second half started with increased urgency from Imperial. As the home side, they were bent on making the most of their home advantage and getting the three points. The visitors, while thwarting all the advances of their opposition, tried to get one for themselves, all to no avail.

The first – and only – goal of the game would come in the 78th minute as Imperial eventually found the back of the net.  The goal would earn them their first win of the year and also send them up to fourth on the league table as they seek to close the gap between themselves and the log leaders, Beyond Limits.
