Valiant got the better of Iganmu in the first TCC League game since the Christmas break.
After enduring a torrid end to the past year, Valiant came out guns blazing as they sought to start the new year on the front foot.
It didn’t take them too long to do this as they found the back of the net in the sixth minute through Abiodun Toheed.
Iganmu Tiger were not going to let them off easily, and as such, put up a fight and drew level in the 14 minute through Ogundare Williams.
With scoring now out of the way, getting enough goals to win the game was now on the agenda. Both sides would however fail to get another goal as the first half ended in a draw.
Iganmu Tiger kicked things off in the second half with more vigor. Pressuring the home side, they found a breakthrough as Bamidele Adeleke was on hand to give the away side the lead.
A valiant push back was required to not suffer another home loss and that’s what Valiant did. Nwoke Favour drew his side level in the 73rd minute and with just seconds to the end of the game, Bilyaminu Abdullahi broke the heart of the tiger by scoring the winning goal.
It’s a rare win for Valiant and another setback for Iganmu on their journey to the top.
