With Dino SC jumping to the top of the table the day before, the onus was on Remo Stars U19 to take the initiative and recover their place at the top. With the home advantage on their side, they welcomed Emmydinho, a side that had only won one of its last five games.
Wary of conceding an early goal, the away side started the game cautiously. The first quarter of the game was pretty quiet until the deadlock was broken in the 17th minute.
After an error from the Emmydinho goalie, Moshood Taiwo would pounce to give Coach Olumide Ajibola the early lead. This was followed by another 15 minutes of little or no chances which was then followed by a goal, scored by Emmydinho this time around.
Aware of what was at stake, Chijioke Chukwujekwu dug in deep to produce a moment of brilliance and score a lovely goal. With the game now balanced, both teams tried to tip the balance in their favor again. And it was the home team that was successful this time around.
Leveraging on a good build up play from the back, Moshood Taiwo was again on hand to finish the good work that his side had earlier started. They would finish the half as the team in the lead.
The second half would start off like the first, with yet another 15 minutes of little next to no chances created. Then a third goal was added by Odunsi Oluwaseun who was well positioned at the receiving end of a cross from Dada Oluwaseun. That was the first goal of the Creative Championship season for the Remo Stars maestro.
The final 15 minutes of the game would finish with end-to-end stuff on the pitch as Emmydinho tried to add to their goal tally. They would however be unsuccessful as Remo Stars U19 won for the first time in three games.
Man of the Match
Moshood Taiwo (Remo Stars U19)
The former goalkeeper proved that his conversion to an outfield player was a fantastic decision after scoring a brace in this game.
