It was a ding-dong affair between the two Lagos teams as they settled for a share of the spoils in their matchweek 10 encounter at the Legacy Pitch on Wednesday.
The first meeting ended in a rare win for Iganmu despite the men in blue creating a tonne of chances in the game. Fast forward to this game, they started brightly and were keen to take their chances this time.
With just four minutes played in the game, Christopher Jeremiah handed the home side the lead. From theron, they kept creating chances upfront but they were wasteful as their attackers lacked the composure to dispatch the chances that fell to them.
After the HT break, the Iganmu Lions managed to mount pressure on the home side’s defence and they were rewarded when Qudus Adeoye unfortunately turned the ball into his own net in the 57th minute.
With the game still evenly balanced, the home side got a penalty after a defender handled the ball in the box. Up stepped Adesanu Ahmed, who kept his cool to convert from the spot in the 69th minute.
With time running out for Babatunde John’s side in the game, Bamidele Adeleke scored with three minutes of normal time left to deny Kazeem Adeyemi’s side a win under the hot sun.
