Beyond Limits and Dannaz shared the spoils in this MatchDay 10 fixture as both sides settled for a draw.
Coming into the game, both sides were gunning for the top spot, which they would have earned with a win. It was the home side that took the initiative in the ninth minute when Obakimi Joshua opened the scoring before the 10th-minute mark.
The champions, evidently caught off-guard by the goal, re-grouped and launched their own attacks to find the equalizer. First, it was Shola Ogundana who headed the ball straight at the goalie. Shola was again part of the action in the 37th minute as his pass found Onyebuchi in space. The captain however could not find the back of the net.
Two minutes from time, it was Kparobo Arierhi’s turn to try his luck. But his attempted header (from the set-piece) could only hit the crossbar. The first half ended with Shola aiming straight at the goalkeeper as Dannaz took the slim lead into the break.
Beyond Limits continued to apply pressure but had nothing to show for it. Dannaz, on their part, seemed prepared to dig in deep and settle for the slender win. But Ganiyu Adio had other ideas as he found space for himself at the back post and stabbed the ball into the onion bag in the 80th minute.
Smelling blood, Beyond Limits pushed for a winner and got one in the 85th minute through Sunday Gift. But the goal was ruled out for offside. Despite 7 minutes of added time, both sides had to share the spoils in a game that either side could have won.
