Sporting Lagos’ debut in the TCC League ended in a 3-2 home loss to Atlantic Business at the Legacy Pitch on Sunday.
The Lagosians, who were fielding their youth team in the league, were the latest team to join the league and were hoping for a winning start when they hosted ATL on Sunday morning.
Sporting went ahead in the second minute through Simeon Uneh who grabbed his side’s first ever TCC goal and the game’s opener. The lead however lasted only 90seconds as the away side levelled matters through Ali Mohammed.
It was an interesting contest between the two sides and chances were created at either end of the goal. However, the first half finished without further goals as the sides remained unseparated.
After the break, there was a bit of urgency from both sides but it was the visitors who went into the lead for the first time. Abiodun Mustapha converted from range to hand Adiro Olayinka’s side the lead in the 63rd minute.
The home side swung into action in search of the equalizer, and although it took a while, it eventually came in the 86th minute when Akekoromowei Godspowet converted from the spot.
At the death, Kingsley Odima popped up with the winner for Atlantic Business to take all three points against the debutants.

MAN OF THE MATCH
Abiodun Mustapha (Atlantic Business FC)
The winger took his goal brilliantly and was a menace on the wings all through the game. Well deserved.
