Valiant FC 3 - 3 Broad City

12th December, 2023

Valiant and Broad City put on a show in six-goal thriller

Broad City failed to close the gap on Imperial as they could only muster a draw against Valiant.

The visitors, up against a faltering side, conceded the game’s first goal as Maleek Sanusi’s goal gave Valiant a glimpse of what’s possible. But the hosts, who have struggled defensively this season, conceded almost immediately as Jeremiah Christopher’s served as the perfect response.

Before the half ended, both sides scored again. Abayomi Joshua’s goal (36th minute) put Broad City in front before Gafar Olaniyan restored parity four minutes after.

The glut of goals continued in the second half as both sides searched for a win.

Desperate for a win, Sixtus Elegalan’s 62nd minute goal put Valiant on the path to a second win at home. But once again, their leaky defense caved under pressure and conceded a 75th minute goal scored by Famoyegun Michael, a second-half substitute.

The draw means Broad City are now three points behind Imperial while Valiant have now managed four draws this season.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Sixtus Elegalam (Valiant)

The defensive midfielder was at the heart of Valiant’s machinery, controlling, dictating and orchestrating things for Coach Owolabi’s side.
