Iganmu falls flat again as Gbagada soars

Gbagada returned to winning ways as they put a hat-trick of goals past Iganmu.

Despite being the away team, the Blue Eagles, undeterred, started the better side. Their first goal attempt came in the 10th minute with Semiu Fagbayi’s header going over.

Against the run of play however, Ibrahim Ogede’s goal opened up proceedings. The 13th minute opener sent a message as Iganmu searched for their first league win.

Coach Akinyelu’s men, to show how well they received the message of their hosts, replied with one of theirs seven minutes later through Kareem Hassan as the defender was on hand to stab the ball home from close range after a corner kick.

One quickly became two for Gbagada, this time in the second half. Dealing poorly with a Gbagada free kick, Sunday Elijah spilled the ball onto the path of an onrushing Rilwan Gbadamosi. The winger wasted no time as he bundled the ball home to gift the visitors the lead.

Semiu, from the near post, would later add a third two minutes from time to earn Gbagada their second win of the season. For Coach Akinyelu’s men, there’s plenty to be optimistic about. For Iganmu, you can’t say the same as a terrible start to the season seems to be getting worse with each passing game.
