Dino and Sporting Lagos were forced to settle for a draw in a pulsating encounter of tactics and skills.
The hosts got off the block the fastest and created the first chance of the game within minutes. Stephen Ende found space behind the opposition defense and went for goal. Ebenezer Harcourt was however up to the task as he parried the ball away.
Not to be counted among the spectators, Sporting Lagos sent their attacking emissaries on a goal-getting mission. Ochigbo Edward was the first man to make a goal attempt. But his shot fizzled just a little bit wide of the goal.
Relentless in their quest, the visitors kept pressing. And they got their first goal minutes after. After dribbling past a Dino defender, Adeoye Boluwatife’s ball found Yusuf Opeyemi. The striker wasted no time in putting the ball past the defender to gift Coach Shola’s side the lead.
But the lead didn’t last long.
From a long throw into the opposition area, Hassan Agbede rose highest to nod home and level the scores.
The game’s second half went on to be a noisier version of the first. Both sides kept pressing to score the game’s third goal. However, both goalkeepers stole the show, making point blank saves to ensure the game stayed level.
From Ebenezer getting the better of the opposition in a one-on-one situation, to Nathan Godwin parrying the ball at full stretch, before recovering to block a rebound, it was the ‘Goalkeepers’ Show.’
Both sides eventually settle for a point apiece as Dino’s search for a second win in the month continues.
