Goalkeepers Shine as Dino SC Holds Sporting Lagos to a Draw

Sporting Lagos’ early goal was not enough as they were held to a draw at Dino SC.

The Lagos boys came into the game like a team on a mission, put their right forward and broke the deadlock in the 7th minute. Faisal Salisu broke through the Dino defensive ranks after being put through on goal. He ensured his effort counted, putting early pressure on Dino.

The hosts however didn’t budge and held their own in style. And just before half-time, they drew level, with Hunsa Ezekiel making the most of the half-chance that came his way in the 18-yard area.

The goals were not enough to dissuade both sides from gunning for a second. However, both goalkeepers brought their A-game, thwarting every attempt that came their way. Most memorable of those were Godswill Sunday’s two key saves in the 2nd half, which saw the keeper make himself big, first to deny James Verneil, then to stop Faisal from grabbing a brace.

In the end, both sides settled for a point apiece as they shared the spoils. The result was good enough for Sporting Lagos to maintain their unbeaten start to the campaign. However, it leaves them still one point behind Dino SC on the standings.
