Real Sapphire 5 - 1 Iganmu Tiger

13th November, 2023

Toothless Tiger Hit by Real ‘Five-Star’ Sapphire

Real Sapphire put on an impressive display as they scored five past a hapless Iganmu.

It took them only eight minutes to get their first of the game as Udoh Gift opened. After a couple of passes in the middle of the park, Ibrahim Yusuf launched a long ball across the pitch to find the right back in an advanced position. Unmarked, Udoh took a few strides into the box and coolly put the ball past the goalkeeper.

Iganmu Tiger let in a second in the 21st minute as Akinfenwa Musa dazzled his way – past one, past two, including the goalkeeper – to score the hosts’ second.

Real Sapphire dominated the half, a dominance Iganmu had no answers for. They however came out in the second half the better side, scoring the first of the half through Ibrahim Ogede who outmuscled his man on his way to rattling the onion bag.

But that lead didn’t last for long as Coach Abidemi’s lads restored their two-goal lead in the 57th minute. Emmanuel Flomo was on hand to tap in from close range as Iganmu’s flaws in the defense showed again.

Flomo was at it again a minute later as he pounced on another mix-up in the Iganmu defense to score his brace. Ibrahim Adamu rounded up the scoring 15 minutes from time with a belter from 25 yards.

Iganmu’s search for a first win continues as Real Sapphire rub shoulders with the big boys at the top of the table.

MAN OF THE MATCH

A brace for his efforts, a win for his all-round display and efficiency in the side.
