REPORT: MD6 – Real Sapphire 4 – 1 Iganmu

Tigers Put to the Sword at Real Sapphire

Real Sapphire registered back-to-back wins in style as they defeated Iganmu 4-1 in the final game of the MatchDay.

The contest began with both sides holding nothing back in their attacking attempts as they pushed for an early goal. 29 minutes, Real Sapphire found the breakthrough as Chiagozie Onwe finished off a fine attacking team play to put his side in front.

10 minutes later, he doubled his tally, again from inside the 18-yard area, this time, losing his marker before poking home from close range. 14 minutes into the 2nd half, Iganmu pulled one back through Abayomi David’s header.

But it wasn’t enough to galvanize a comeback as Onwe completed his hat-trick (in the 69th minute) before Shinaayomi completed the rout in the last minute of normal time with a cracker. The result sees Real Sapphire climb up to third while Iganmu’s slide down the standings continues.
