REPORT: MD5 – Dino SC 3 – 1 Valiant

Dino Maintain Unbeaten Home Run with Valiant Victory

Dino continued their fine home form with another victory, defeating Valiant 3-1.

Dino began the game with an onslaught on Valiant’s defense. Within the opening 30 minutes of the game, Coach Godwin’s boys threw the sink at their visitors’ defense, trying to find that early goal. They were, however, denied by a brilliant Nurudeen in goal, as well as the woodwork, as the Brave Boys held on.

But the visitors went behind in the 38th minute, after giving in to the pressure. Gerald Uzoma’s attempt was fumbled by the goalkeeper, giving the hosts the lead. Four minutes later, Dino doubled their advantage. Hunsa Ezekiel, who had just come on in the 40th minute, was in the right place at the right time to take advantage of a defensive error and lob one over an onrushing Nurudeen with only his second touch in the game.

Valiant’s woes compounded in the 2nd half as they conceded a third four minutes in. No thanks to another breakdown in communication, the hosts gifted the ball to Ezekiel. His beautiful strike, from 25 yards out, was precise enough to extend Dino’s lead, and lovely enough to be a Goal of the Season contender.

Five minutes from time, Valiant pulled one back through Michael Ugen. But it was too little too late as they were again punished for their defensive frailty.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Hunsa Ezekiel (Dino SC)

He scored twice within nine minutes of being introduced. Talk about being a super sub.
