Dannaz Nightmare Continues with Third Consecutive Loss of the Season

For a third time this season, Dannaz conceded 4+ goals in a TCC League game, losing to Real Sapphire 5-2.

A 13th-minute goal set Real Sapphire on the right track. Xavier Tarpeh was on hand to bundle the ball over the line from a corner kick. But Dannaz replied with a goal of their own nine minutes later, as David Oyebade fired into the bottom right of the goal to draw the Cedars level.

But their inability to hold on to a lead cost them 15 minutes later as they conceded a penalty which Xavier converted to restore Real Sapphire’s lead. By the end of the half, Dannaz were 3-1 down as Lateef Abdulazeez joined in on the scoring action.

Four minutes into the 2nd half, things went from bad to worse for Dannaz as they conceded again. Lateef, just like Xavier, bagged his brace after finishing off a great attacking team move. The 14 minutes that followed that goal saw Dannaz score their second – through Osarenkhoe Sunday – before conceding a fifth, which was scored by Chinedu Onyejiaka in the 63rd minute after a defensive error.

It’s the perfect response for Real Sapphire after their loss last week. Returning to winning ways in style is perfect for Coach Daniel’s men. But it means troubling news for Dannaz, who n ow have just one point to their name in five games.
