Valiant’s Search for a First League Win Continues as They Lose to Atlantic
Atlantic Business made light work of Valiant as they climbed to sixth with their triumph.
Both sides started the game quietly, with the first half seeing little action in terms of goal-scoring chances. The first chance of the game came in the 16th minute when Peter Mona’s freekick was parried away. Two minutes later, it was Valiant’s turn to send a free-kick goal-wards. Muhammed Abdullahi’s kick however skimmed just inches over Wasiu Ibrahim’s goal.
A dour 1st half was followed by an intense second 45, as both sides hustled for the opening goal.
Coach Charles’ side won the race, albeit in the 78th minute, after Abayomi Ayorinde was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box. Dimeji Kilani stepped up to the spot and converted to put his side ahead.
10 minutes later, the hosts doubled their lead. Alase Qodri was at the receiving end of a pass sent into the box. His left-footed strike sent the ball past Hammed Saheed, to put the final nail in the coffin as Valiant succumbed to yet another loss.
