REPORT: MD4 – Valiant 2 – 1 VOE FA

VOE Lose Again as Brave Boys Seal First Win

Valiant scored twice for the first time at home this season, defeating VOE FA 2-1 for their first win of the season.

The Brave Boys set the tone early when they broke the deadlock in the 12th minute. Ifeanyi Ogbonnaya curled his free-kick, from just outside the 18-yard area, into the net, giving Valiant an early lead. The goal forced VOE FA to crank up the heat in search of an equalizer. But in the 24th minute, they fell further behind. Abdulkareem Jafar found himself in space 25 yards out. He wasted no time releasing a fiery shot that rattled the onion bag and extended Valiant’s lead.

The visitors pulled one back the next minute, responding almost immediately after Samad Olutosin curled one into the bottom corner. The early goals did nothing to water down the intensity of the game as both sides pushed for more goals. They were however evenly matched, with the hosts going into the break in front.

The tale of the tape remained the same in the 2nd half. Both defenses came out on top in a fast-paced game that saw both sides create only a handful of chances. In the end, Valiant held on for a first home win this season, while condemning VOE FA to a fourth consecutive loss.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Ifeanyi Ogbonnaya (Valiant)

His early goal proved to be a pace-setter for the hosts. His doggedness in the middle of the park frustrated most of VOE FA’s attacking attempts.
