REPORT: MD4 – Real Sapphire 0 – 2 Dino SC

Real Sapphire Fire Blanks, Dino Shine on the Road

Dino picked up their first away win of the season with a 2-0 victory against Real Sapphire.

Up against an unbeaten Real Sapphire, Coach Godwin’s boys faced an uphill task. They however kicked off the game unperturbed and firmly in control of proceedings. The midfield dominance translated into early half chances which they could not convert.

They’d however find their breakthrough in the 23rd minute. Amos Adzuu was on hand to poke the ball into an empty net after a lack of communication between the goalkeeper and his defenders.

Dino, not satisfied with the early goal, continued quizzing the Real Sapphire defense in search of another goal. In the 30th minute, an opportunity to extend their lead presented itself from the spot. Amos Adzuu’s attempt was however saved as the hosts remained within touching distance of their visitors.

In the 58th minute, Amos was in the right place at the right time, looking to bag his brace. But his low shot fizzled just wide of the goal. Nine minutes from time, their pressure paid off, as Dino SC put the final nail in the coffin. Hunsa Ezekiel was perfectly placed to convert from close range after Samuel Obudu found him out with a great cross.

The victory sees Dino leapfrog Real Sapphire on the table to occupy fifth spot on the log.
