Escola and Dannaz Inseparable as Visitors get First Point of the Season

Escola and Dannaz rounded up league action at the Ijebu-Ode stadium on a busy Saturday afternoon with a 2-2 draw. Both sides came into the game on the back of MatchDay 3 defeats, eager to get maximum points from the clash.

Without a win this season, the visitors drew first blood in the 18TH MINUTE AS Hammed Mehmud was on hand to put Dannaz in front. Coach Fatai’s men, for the most part of the half, looked the more likely team to score as they were the better of the two sides.

19 minutes later, they got the reward for being on top of the game for so long, getting a second through Obakimi Joshua. They would go into the half with a two-goal lead, 45 minutes away from their first win of the season.

The hosts however had other plans and came out in the second half guns blazing.

Pressing Dannaz in the midfield and making better plays than they managed in the first half, the hosts pulled one back in the 62nd minute. Right-wing-back, Tosin Ajiwojuoluwa found space for himself as he nicked one back for Escola.

Determined not to suffer back-to-back losses, Escola pressed for the equalizer. For all their hard work keeping the hosts at bay, Dannaz had no answer for Escola’s late goal, scored by an impressive Lukman Adigun.

Yet again, Dannaz’s faulty (defensive) lines proved to be the chink in their armor. And although they have now picked up their first point of the season, the season ahead looks like a long one as the search for a first win continues.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Lukman Adigun (Escola)

The impressive midfielder was at the heart of everything that was effective in the Escola setup. It’s no surprise he was on hand to draw his side level just in the nick of time.
