Dino Makes it Four in Four with Imperial Triumph

Dino recorded their fifth win in as many games as they got the better of Imperial.

Now sitting pretty at the top of the table, the hosts needed a few minutes of the game to get going. Hyacinth Okoro got a chance to open the scoring in the early minutes but could only blast his chance wide of the goal. Imperial, not to be regarded as spectators in the game, replied by creating a goal-scoring chance for themselves.

Musa Malik, after wiggling his way past two Dino defenders, found Joel who, after rounding the goalkeeper, could only send the ball across the goal mouth, rather than into it.

Both sides went into the break-tied.

It was however Dino who drew first blood three minutes into the start of the second half. After Imperial failed to clear their area, the ball fell kindly to Chidubem Diji, who sent the keeper and the scrambling defender the wrong way, to put Dino ahead.

Despite being in the lead, it remained a tight contest for Dino as Imperial grew in confidence, creating chance after chance. However, Coach Adedeji’s side could not get their goal.

Things quickly went from bad to worse for the visitors as Amos Adzuu was brought down in the 18-yard area by Henry, who got sent off for a second bookable offense. Hyacinth Ogonna stepped up to the ball and converted from the spot to hand Dino their second of the day.
