Beyond Limits 2 - 2 Real Sapphire
Beyond Limits avoid defeat against Real Sapphire in four-goal thriller
Defending champions of the TCC League, Beyond Limits had to score a late goal to deny Real Sapphire a first win on the road in their debut campaign.
The two sides met at the Remo Stars Stadium and it was the champions who needed to fight back twice in the game to avoid a defeat at home.
Real Sapphire have been scoring a lot of goals recently and were gifted a chance in the opening quarter of the game with Musa Akinfenwa putting his side ahead. They were not behind for long as Dadius Ogunniyi converted from the spot in the 21st minute.
BYL continued to huff and puff in the game but the gladiators stood their ground and they went back in front just minutes before the break. Musa completed his brace to hand his side a half-time lead at the home of the champions.
It was all Beyond Limits in the second half as they intensified their efforts to find the leveller. On the other hand, Real Sapphire were playing to see out the game but they struck in the dying embers of the match to deny the visitors a crucial win.
With two minutes to go, defender Victory Iboro directed home a corner from Isaac Chukwueze to keep BYL’s home run intact, while Real Sapphire continued their unbeaten start to the TCC.
