Bump in the Road for Broad City as Atlantic Halt their 100% Start to the Season

Broad City settled for a draw at Atlantic Business as their 100% start to the league was brought to an end.

A cautious start to the game saw both sides with the ball possession in the midfield. Save for a few shots that flew past the target early in the half, it was largely a quiet half, with both goalkeepers having little to deal with.

The second half started out busier than the first was, with the first goal coming in the 49th minute.

Having thwarted a progressive attack by the visitors, Peter Mona took possession of the ball in the midfield. Shrugging off a Broad City defender, he turned and sent a defense-splitting pass to Kilani Oladimeji who rounded the keeper and put the ball in an empty net.

First blood, Atlantic Business.

In search of an almost-immediate equalizer, Broad City won a free-kick at the edge of Atlantic’s penalty area. Captain Adewuyi Ahmed’s kick, although on target, was punched over the bar. Just like their captain’s free-kick, every other thing the visitors threw at their hosts was well dealt with… until their breakthrough came in the 82nd minute.

Having failed to clear their lines, Atlantic Business gave the ball away. A quick exchange between two Broad City players in the box opened up space for Jeremiah Christopher to fire past Omah Ebube in goal.

Both sides shared the spoils as they now look forward to their TCC Cup fixtures.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Oladimeji Kilani (Atlantic Business)

Aside from opening the scoring, Kilani kept the Broad City defense busy throughout the game, posing a threat the whole time.
