Dino maintained their 100% start to the season with a tough away win at Escola.
Both sides came into the game unbeaten, looking to take all three points away from the game. It was however Dino who got the party started with the game’s opening goal.
Escola’s Bello Babatunde gave the ball away in his own half. The ball fell to Chidubem Diji’s feet who sent the ball flying into the top right-hand corner of Chike’s goal.
Despite drawing first blood, Dino did not rest on their oars and almost got a second minutes later. Amos Adzuu’s shot however went over the bar. This was after Moyo Onikoyi had danced his way past the Dino defense but saw his shot wheeze just wide of the goal.
Before the first half ended, Dino saw goal attempt after goal attempt thwarted either by the Escola goalie or their complacency upfront.
The score remained the same throughout the second half largely because of the big chances Dino failed to convert. Dino would have scored a second or even a third goal if not for Chike’s heroics in goal, a goal-line clearance, and the unusual ineffectiveness of Coach Godwin’s men in front of goal.
Nevertheless, Dino got all three points from the game as they handed Escola their first league defeat of their campaign.
