Gbagada’s Late Goal Denies Dino Second Win of the Season

Dino and Gbagada settled for a point apiece after an enthralling encounter that saw three goals scored in the first 45 minutes.

Coach Akinyelu’s boys got the game off to the perfect start, breaking the deadlock in the first minute. Habeeb’s low drive from a free-kick rolled beneath the goalkeeper’s arms and into the back of the net. 

30 minutes in, Dino were denied an equalizer as Bassey came off his line to make a huge save.

However, there was little the goalkeeper could do in the 37th minute as Dino drew level from the penalty spot. With the wind in their sails, Dino clinched another goal three minutes from half-time to take the lead into the break.

The visitors, unperturbed by the turn of events, continued to press for an equalizer in the second half. 13 minutes in, they came close, with Itunu’s one-time shot deflecting off the crossbar. They would wait until the 89th minute before finding the breakthrough, with Akinyelu breaking Dino hearts with his late goal.

And though Dino scored a stoppage time goal, it was chalked off after a Digital Assistant Review, thereby forcing both sides to settle for a share of the spoils.
