Broad City shut out Imperial as they managed successive clean sheets and back-to-back league wins.
In a keenly contested tie, both sides entered the fixture seeking to assert their dominance on the game. Both sides however failed to make the most of their chances when they came, especially in the first half.
While the game intensity increased in the second half, the story remained the same: The goal-scoring chances continued to be squandered. The game seemed destined for a draw until second-half substitute, Ayomide Bakare, broke the deadlock and put Broad City in front.
The winger who came on in the 75th minute, raced past his marker onto a short pass from Jeremiah Christopher. A soft tap from him was enough to send the ball under Kator Daniel’s arms and into the net.
MAN OF THE MATCH
Ayomide Bakare (Broad City)
The super sub got his goal within 10 minutes of being brought on; same goal that earned his side the win. Talk about being a game-changer.
