Imperial Remain Third Despite Win over Iganmu

Imperial brushed aside Iganmu in their penultimate game of the 2023/2024 TCC League season.

Imperial were the fastest off the blocks as Joel Ashuku got the first goal in the 5th minute. The hosts asserted their dominance on the game, pressing hard for a second. And they got it, this time in the 34th minute, as Bashir Abdulkareem rounded the goalie to increase Imperial’s lead.

The hosts added a third just before half-time, compounding Iganmu’s woes and making the case for a comeback unlikely for the visitors.

Coach Opeyemi Azeez’s men toned down their intensity in the second half, thereby giving Iganmu some breathing space. They kept their clean sheet nonetheless, solidifying their claims for a third place finish in the league.
