Broad City Keep Top Four Dreams alive with win

Broad City kept consecutive clean sheets as they triumphed over Gbagada.

The hosts started the game on the defensive, keeping the Blue Eagles at bay. They would launch their first offensive on the half-hour mark and break the deadlock.

After a fine spell of ball possession, the visitors launched a counter-attacking move. In a four-against-two situation, Sanusi Hanif registered the last kick of the play as his shot slowly rolled into the back of the net after a deflection.

The Blue Eagles were unusually dour upfront as they struggled to create clear-cut chances.

Broad City again scored the first goal of the (second) half. This time, it was Bakare Ayomide who punished Gbagada’s sluggish defense by curling the ball towards the far post and into the net.

The hosts remained on top of the game for its entirety as the Blue Eagles posed no threat.
