Real Sapphire continued their fine form with a 2-1 victory over Atlantic Business.
It took the visitors just five minutes to break the deadlock. Joshua Ibrahim’s perfectly placed header was good enough to beat the keeper and put Real Sapphire in front. Olumide Akinwande, in the 18th minute, came close to drawing the hosts level with a worldie. He was however denied by the woodwork as the scoreline stayed the same.
In the 31st minute, Ismail Adams was in the right place at the right time to chip the ball over Solomon Dominic and extend Real Sapphire’s lead as the visitors made the most of another freekick situation. They’d take that lead into the break as the hosts trailed.
14 minutes into the 2nd half, Atlantic Business were again denied by the woodwork as they tried to catch their opponents. They’d eventually get a goal in stoppage time with Friday Cornelius pulling one back, albeit a little too late.
For Real Sapphire, this victory takes them up to third on the table, level on points with Atlantic Business, while setting things up nicely for the final day.
